FINALS FEEVER |
June 23, 2006 |
I cant believe it!! Australia have made it through to the FIFA WORLD CUP GROUP 16!! I've been up all night for the last couple of weeks following everything very closely and tonights game was just amazing!!
I picked Harry as being man of the match very early in the game, he was back to his best form and showed why he is one of Australias best players. At times it was the Aussie 11 against 12 on the Croatian team, as the ref had obviously been paid off!! But even that didn't stop us from qualifying for the next amazing round for the first time ever!!
And another first, a Croatian player receiving 3 yellow cards before being sent off!! Come on FIFA you HAVE to get some decent ref's in this game!!!!
Come on Italy!
Check out the FIFA FINALS web page.
And check out the current group standings with just one more days play to go before the next round.

The Grange |

With the season now into it's fourth round, this years Club Sand Wedge golf tournament is hotting up to be one of the best!
I'm only say this because right now the leader of the table is ME!! Not sure how long that will last though, since anyone down to about 8th position could catch and pass me with one bad round on my behalf!
Check out the current leader board here
My photos from the last round can be found here

Melbourne 2006 |
April 01, 2006 |
Well another year and another melbourne GP is over. There was a large contigent from the heathcote and pawson familes make the trip south. Mark, Darren, Tanya, Graham, Janita, Sarah and Benjamin! We were very kindly put up by a friend of the pawson family, and they were way too good to us while we were there!
Mark and I went to the track on Saturday with Benjamin to watch the preliminaries. I had forgotten how cold Melbourne can be! It was freezing, and wet too! Benjamin managed to fall asleep and we wrapped him in a tarp to stay dry!
On race day, Darren and I made the usual sprint to the fence and managed to get the perfect position again! Weather was great, not too hot and not too cool. The race was very exciting, and we even got to witness a crash right in front of us up against the wall!

Footy Season Ending Soon |
September 11, 2005 |
Well the end of the NRL season is nearly upon us, with just the finals left to play. So this brings us to Craigs Crazy Tippers presentation day!! Once again, I turned out to be the bridesmaid, and received the prize for second place :) Perhaps next year I'll knock fatboy off his podium, and take home the big trophy!!
We had a good day of celebrations, with awards going to the two youngest tippers in the competition, plus a number of others in the competition.

Back To Sports |
January 06, 2005 |
Well its the first week of the new year, and I'm back into the sporting activities. Last night was our first game back at Touch Football, that's touching with the hands, not touching with the feet! And although we were a little short on our key play makers, we did manage to end the match in a draw. And I even manged to score another try, taking my tally for the season to two! And Darren managed to score also, so we took home the double!

Final Golf Round |
December 12, 2004 |
Golf this week was at Shellharbour Links and in the form of Ambrose. It's a rpetty tough course and Stewart and I were going along pretty well for the frist 5 or 6 holes. We were putting the pressure on the favorites with keeping a par score. But then something happened and we started to slip backwards fast! I think we then put too much pressure on oursevles thinking we were doing badly. But of course that was only doing badly to Darren and Justin who ended up winning by more than 7 strokes!

A week of sporting wins |
December 08, 2004 |
Two games this week with two positive results. Firstly Netball on monday, Leon got his wish and won a well played game convincingly in the end. Then tonight we had a win at Touch Footy. Another well played game which we won pretty well. Unfortunately I let one try in when I slipped over in the wet conditions and missed a touch. Fortunately the game was already won at that stage so it made little impact in the end! But it will be off to the shoe shop for some proper boots later this week!
In other sporting events, our evening at the driving range was not a huge success, but it has given me some things to work on and I'm hoping to get up there again tomorrow night. All in preparation for the final big match on Sunday!!

Touch Footy |
December 01, 2004 |
Well my first game of touch tonight and unfortunately we lost, but only just, 6-5. The game was much faster than I was expecting, and found myself running backwards way more often than forwards! But I made sure I played in the middle a bit, and even managed to talk a lovely ball over the line to score a try. I really didn't do much to get there, and after the game I was told that debutants really needed to score twice to be signed for the season :)
I'm sure I'll feel the pain tomorrow though, and will have to add a bit more sprinting to my training schedule! And backwards sprinting too! Looking forward to next week though, and I'm sure getting some propper shoes will give me the edge I am looking for :)

Broken Bones, Broken Dreams... |
November 10, 2004 |
It has not been a very exciting week for me so far. On monday night I rolled my ankle again, I've lost count on how many times this has happened to my right ankle, but this time it was enough to reduce my normal enthusiastic running self into not much more than an ornament on the court. Not only that but it has kept me out of basketball, and an inter-office golf challenge this week too.
It seems to be responding well to treatment, but I think it will be another week or two before its back to its usual 75% sufficency level.
Also this week at work we've been doing performance reviews, and this is always a bit of a drag. I've almost finished mine now, just got a lot of typing to go. And ohhh, that Michael, am I going to make up some rubbish about him!!!
One good thing that is coming up though is next weeks road trip to The Gold Coast! Darren and I are taking the long drive up the coast to attend the Revetec AGM which is being held in their new Gold Coast headquarters. It's going to be a long drive up Thursday night, with a quick swim to refresh on Friday morning before hitting the meeting. We are then planning to stay friday night, and hit the casino to pay for the trip :) One down side is that we will be up there during Schoolies week ;)

Birdie Time |
October 31, 2004 |
This weekend was quite a busy one, spending most of Saturday running around the shops. Then in the evening I attended Chris and Yvonnes kitchen warming party.
Golf on Sunday started well, despite the very early morning due to daylight savings kicking in! But once I hit the back nine, it turned out to be a day to forget!! The round was punctated by my first birdie in morden times, and a very good par after hitting a pretty special 5 iron shot!
