A wet weekend

August 19, 2007

Yes this weekend we decided to hit the mountains and forge a new trail through the australian bush. Unforunately we were beaten by the weather and the terrain!! But we did have a great time trying to conqure a new trail.

Photos from the trip are here.

We were using this trip from Hike Oz, but it needs a little adjusting before it is used by anyone else!!

Read the report and find out how much trouble we had!

Triton in Deua

August 10, 2007

All the trip photos can be found here.

After struggling for four weeks trying to get the last few things sorted out on the new Triton, I decided it was time for a test trip. Still need’s some work, but enough is done to verify its ability! Destination: Bendethra!

I managed to leave the office on schedule at 3:30pm, and headed up the mountain and on to Goulburn. The larger tyres and new computer seem to have had a large effect on fuel economy, I was getting 9.1L/100km before, now it looks like I’m getting closer to 11L/100km!!! I’ll wait and see how that pans out though, takes a little while for the economy stats to level out.

Hike Oz Is Alive!

I've been putting more effort into HIKE OZ lately, and have now made the site available to the general population. You can access it from here:

www.hikeoz.com

There is a login process, but guest/guest will get you in. Please provide feedback and suggestions. It is still in development though. However, I am putting up each of our planed trips up there and reports as we complete trips. The next plan we will be walking is the "Wallara Heights to Mount Collboyd" trip.

Have a look and let me know what you think.

Oh yeah, it doesn't work to well if you are using Internet Explorer. It works great though if you are using Firefox, or any other standards based web browser!
